Membership

Membership to the Charles S. Peirce Society grants the following privileges:

  • voting in executive committee elections and on constitutional amendments,
  • funding opportunities (see funding requests page),
  • opportunities to speak at Society events,
  • opportunities to serve on Society committees

Per our Constitution, only individual persons may be voting members of the Society. Institutes and other organizations may be admitted as non-voting members, currently at the same rates as individual memberships.

Membership in the Society is initiated either by subscribing to its journal: The Transactions of the Charles S. Peirce Society: A Quarterly Journal in American Philosophy, or by paying dues directly to the Society through its PayPal account, the link for which is below, priced at about half the cost of the journal subscription, and offering 1-year, 3-year, and lifetime options. Please note that paying dues directly to the Society does not include a subscription to the Transactions.

Whether you join by journal subscription or by direct payment of dues, please notify the executive director that you have joined the Society (or have renewed your membership) by email at peircesociety@gmail.com, to ensure that your membership (or renewal) is received.
